Well, I'm home today...all in preparation for heading out for the holidays...Today was an "optional day off" that I got TOLD I was taking. My supervisor is all about enforcing me to have some down time. I'm putting in long days as a means of trying to feel caught up from my challenging November... The fact that I'm all about pushing the ministry regulations down my own throat doesn't help. I hate the fact that my job comes with all these regulations, and no REAL ability to HELP some families. The resources aren't there. Our region needs counselling, and counsellors.. and there is simply no one out there for it. I'm formulating a 10 year plan.. Stay tuned. Reality for now is... I'm not feeling so good about this many days in a row off of work, but that's life..It's probably time for me to come up for air anyhow...
Sent my family's gifts their way earlier this month, and found my mother's gift this morning...GAH... it's not even wrapped... Still have some friends gifts to wrap, and neighbours but
zagatto took care of most of it, so I don't even have a clear picture of what's done and what isn't.
This morning, it's a short list... Shower, Pack, prep case notes to write in the car from my over full day yesterday.
Enjoyed a lovely movie, snuggle evening with a very old friend last night. It was nice to spend time with someone who has not been around enough lately to know how bizarre life has been, but cares just the same. We talked, drank port, and watched Miyazakii... Some times that is truly the best way to pass the time.
On the belly dance side of things... gah...I was in yesterday's Hamilton Spectator.... The column is Go Girl Go... and it was a fun interview several weeks ago... Reminds me why I hate camera's though. It is actually a great promo article but a terrible shame that I'm taking a break from teaching for the next little while due to the commute and winter weather. I just can't afford to have that tight a time committment after my work day... A friend (coming home for a visit from Japan) is hosting a BellyDance Show at the Casbah on December 28th. I expect it to be quiet and fun... And cheap!! C'mon out if you are interested in having a dancing good time. I intend to be there, and may even get dragged up to shimmy a bit.
Everyone have a LOVELY holiday. I don't imagine I'll be spending much time online for the next little while.. But I carry my cell, if you need/want to touch base over the holidays... If you don't have the number, and want it?... Email me and ask nicely *weg*
