Understanding Forgiveness

Forgiveness may be your overriding thought today as you find yourself accepting
the misgivings of others. By being understanding and tolerant of their different
point of view, you have the ability to work through a difficult situation.
Understanding is a gift we give to others, and it is a choice to be giving. As
we make choices about the type of person we would like to be, we can choose to
be forgiving or we can take a more self-serving path. There is no right or
wrong, there is merely a choice we make. If you have the ability to understand
others, their fears and misgivings, their point of view and philosophy, you have
a gift that can bring peace to the world, and it is yours to give today.

There are as many ways to move through this world as there are people. Each of
us has our own path. When we deal with people who have much the same background
as ourselves, there may be little difficulty understanding each other. But as
the world grows smaller and people have the ability to live in places far from
everything they know, there is a greater need for understanding and tolerance of
differences. Beyond that, it is even more of a gift to reach out to those people
and lend your assistance and understanding to help them bridge the gap they
face. If we could all begin with understanding and acceptance, there may be no
need for forgiveness. Today, by being willing to be understanding, you become a
peacemaker.
