Virgo Horoscope for week of May 26, 2005

Virgo (August 23-September 22)
You've probably never heard of one of the greatest heroes of the last 100 years. Virgo microbiologist Maurice Hilleman (1919-2005) developed vaccines for measles, pneumonia, meningitis, hepatitis, and many other diseases. The Guardian said he saved more lives in the 20th century than anyone else. And yet, as is all-too-typical for Virgos, he never got anywhere near the acclaim he deserved. Having said that, I believe the coming weeks will depart from the astrological norm. Many of you Virgos will get much more of the recognition and rewards you have earned but never before received.

Hmmm... that sounds nice... Though really I think it already happened... I got my new business cards this week. Finally, after almost 10 years I have my letters after my name. That may not sound like a big deal but it's actually quite poignant for me. I lost a great deal of time wandering interesting paths that weren't the one I had set out on. I am still not entirely sure how I ended up so far off. Now...How's it going.?

Well, I got my first full 2 week paycheque. What a relief. That's a big bonus having an income that's reliable and consistent. I have a caseload. It's interesting, some sad, some pathetic, some infuriating and a few doing well that if things remain well, we'll close. I am in training classes right now, which is surprisingly FUN. I REMEMBER this stuff. It's like feeling the blood flowing back into a numb foot that's been asleep. My brain is tingling with information... Things I REMEMBER. I have all my books and as we review information (and add new stuff) my brain is making connections and I can SEE my original texts... It's eerie in a way. But good eerie.

My supervisor? Rocks. She's new to her position too. It's odd having the comfort to say "this is the kind of supervision I need" and KNOW she will try to accomodate that or renegotiate with me. SO empowering. SO very healthy. Bringing out the best in the subordinate is what a supervisor is supposed to do...It's bizarre.

I am also seeing how much I have changed in the last 10 years. I am still very informed, and comfortable speaking out. But I am more sensitive to people, I can see my leadership style and that of others. I can identify group dynamics... It's cool.
