Is feeling better today!!

Her fever is down, and as evidenced by her determination to NOT GO TO SCHOOL...I think she'll be back tomorrow.

We'll see how I feel.

Shoutout - HEY [profile] lickerishwhip, how would you feel about planning a visit this way on Feb 23rd for the weekend?  There's a catch...

[profile] samantha_liisa, also in Kingston, needs a ride.  I WILL PAY BOTH of your gas money!!  She can't drive this way,  I think you can.  AND I think you two meeting is a ...good...idea.

SO...I'm brewing a plan that involves, you pair of ladies car-pooling this way for the weekend and meeting some...others...

Let me know.

I know [livejournal.com profile] zagatto hates our medical system, but frankly I think it's a matter of finding a decent doctor.

I have a primary physician for myself and a pediatrician for K in Hamilton. The current illnesses have not gotten me to see either of them, in lieu I have accessed "The Doctor's Office" on University St. I must say, I have been SOUNDLY impressed.

The clincher for that today, was the phone call from the MD we saw yesterday checking in to see what happened with K's fever. He sounded surprised that it had dropped (I still say his thermometer was wrong) and advised that if the diareaha continues any more than two more days, to STOP the anti-biotic, and we'll "re-assess" from there.

A phone call follow-up with recommendations... That just seriously rocks!!

OK...SO I have benefits at my job. GOOD ONE's...Like 100% drug coverage good ones... AND I can't access them...

SOMEONE please explain to me WHY in the world, my husband's date of birth has ANYTHING to do with my medical coverage? Or K's for that matter?

Here's what's up.

On 14 Jan when I went to get her prescriptions filled, I went to MY PHARMACIST in Hamilton. His system showed my old benefits plan, and [livejournal.com profile] zagatto's old plan (FROM CEDA). I gave him MY new plan information. He also found [livejournal.com profile] zagatto information from the RIM job. However, the RIM profile was showing as "suspended", due to being in Singapore, his benefits are covered under a different policy, meaning we pay up front and get re-imbursed, HOWEVER, as they were "suspended" and not cancelled, EVEN though MY PLAN IS ACTIVE, [livejournal.com profile] zagatto's birthday is in June. Mine is in August. They have to put all benefits through HIS PLAN FIRST.
But it's suspended. Doesn't matter. What do you mean it doesn't matter? It's showing as existing, has to go through his plan first...

SO...the end result here, is I have 2, count em TWO active benefits plans...and can't access EITHER. I have paid out of pocket over 200$ in medical prescriptions since Januray 14th/06 and had the grief of the first payment, BORROWING my MIL Credit Card to do so.

Frankly, as an indepedant woman, with my own job and my own benefits program, I can't for the LIFE OF ME, understand why things can't be put through MY PLAN when I request it.

Opinions from the peanut gallery!!!

**btw, I recognize that I am fortunate to even have one benefits plan and there are people on my flist who don't even have that...**

Freeing Our Inner Desires
Using Our Outside Voice

Each of us has developed an internal filtering process that helps us choose which parts of our constant inner monologues get voiced outside of our heads. Sometimes the choice is based on what we consider to be polite or appropriate, using subtlety instead of directness to try to get our point across. Other times the choice is made based on our expectations of the other person and what we feel they should know about us, our feelings, and our needs. But our best chance of getting what we need is to communicate specifically by converting our inner voice to our outside voice.
This may seem unnecessary sometimes, especially when we think the other person has the same information we ourselves are working with, but we have to remember they also have their own inner voice, evaluating what they hear in light of their own issues and needs. With so much to consider and sift through, we are truly better off if we communicate precisely. Not only does doing this minimize the chance for misinterpretation, but voicing our thoughts it is an act of creation. We convert thought and imagination to sound, releasing it from the chamber of our minds into the outside world. This carries energy and intention with it, making our thoughts, wishes, and even dreams come true.

When we have the courage to speak our minds and use our voice to send the desires of our hearts from our inner world to the world outside, we take a bold step in making them happen. By removing fear of what others may think and expectation of what others should understand, we free ourselves and our thoughts from the bondage of the mental chamber and let loose our desires onto the canvas of the world. Next time we become aware that we have a choice about how to communicate, we can choose to use our outside voice and watch its creative power at work.
