CUPE and Me

Challenges...
The union is calling for a large "governmental walk out". They are terming it a "legal demonstration". CBC calls it an Illegal Strike.
I hate weeding through hype to find out the truth... GAH.
The upswing is that CUPE is indicating that the walk out for ALL the locals is on Thursday. Then they will allow individual locals to poll their membership and negotiate directly with their employer. I SURE HOPE that my local lets us vote again on this matter.
When it was presented to us by CUPE, a one day walk out is what was discussed and voted on, not a long term strike. This was the implication! though cleverly worded once you got through the hype and hysteria. I highly suspect that if it were worded differently, the vote may have turned out differently.
Regardless, it looks like I may have Thursday off. To walk a picket line..
