Plague Household

I am officially a member of the plague household. I just got back from the local walk-in clinic.
Diagnosis - Katina has a case of the flu, likely to last the week, though she may be good enough to go to daycare on Monday. She has the start of an ear infection, but I'm going to wait to see if it starts to clear on it's own before I get her the medications.
- Me, I may have strep throat. Swab taken and sent, prescription in my purse. And no comment whatsoever about the ongoing cough that's plagued me since the holidays.
Ultimate verdict... On Katina, she'll be fine. On mommy, Mommy needs a doctor. Someone who is tracking medical history and willing to find out why I have a cough that JUST WON"T QUIT, that comes back fiercer and fiercer every 5 or 6 weeks. Each time it comes back, I get weaker. I am quite tired of hacking up green crap every morning for 3 hours until the stuff that's "not in my clear lungs" settles back down to the bottom of them and I can get through my day. Some days, I am sure the only that keeps me mobile is adrenaline and fear. I have to keep this job. I can't afford to get/be sick. So every time this cough comes back, I push my body through it and force it away. It bends to my will for a while, then resurfaces even more visciously. I am so excited to know I will soon have a drug plan again. That and a renewed sense of needing a doctor may get me to the point where I can get healthy again...
God I hope Katina can go to daycare on Monday. I can't afford to stay home with her. I miss having grandparents locally.... With Joe away I don't know what I'll do.... :(

Date: 2005-06-11 03:07 pm (UTC)That would involve having a doctor who cares.... Nope. I haven't pushed it yet either though.
My dad had walking pneumonia for MONTHS before anyone caught on.
For me, it's the weakness right after I cough, the having to hold myself upright on the wall or something for a minute or two that bugs me...
GRRR
Not to freak you out or anything, but...
