Car stuff

They are writing off the Neon. I'm negotiating the value, as I have over 2100 in repairs from 2008 on the Neon. Mostly new parts that would increase the value that they want to give me.!

However, I did qualify for a new vehicle purchase. My selection is a 2009 Toyota Corolla. I am not doing the 0% financing as the deal is 3yr terms on that which would make payments a tad uncomfortable for me. So I went with the 5yr terms, which keeps payments reasonable.

Still have to deal with the "accident benefit" people about the chiropractic bills.
If they don't come through I will put them through my EAP.

Oh...have my taxes basically done. Happy with what I should be getting back, will allow me to pay off an outstanding debt I have.

Neck is feeling much better. A few tight bits here and there. Over all a definite improvement.
S'all for now folks

My car is acting up
I got no sleep again last night.
I have a child who wants my attention badly.
I had problems logging into work from home.
I really just want to put my head under the blankets and put my mask back on....

I have an appt for the car for 1pm.  I have Kat with me, cause I couldn't figure out what else to do...my brain is wicked foggy....

Oh ...and I got assigned a new file today.

Call me a stress monkey.

Car Woes

So I dropped a little over 400$ into the Neon for fluid changes in mid May.

On Tuesday, I dropped a little over 500$ into brake work, tire replacement and some kind of rod in the front end.

Then I looked. My brakes had been replaced in Dec. That's just under 6 months...NOT a good sign.

Neither was driving it home and having visible smoke blowing off the left rear tire. A conversation with the Mechanic said, drive again, it could be the oil from the new brakes burning off...or the caliper pin...

Drove it again today...hrm...didn't smoke on the way to the shop...smoked ALL the way home. [livejournal.com profile] zagatto says we've put 3 sets of caliper pins into the Neon since we bought it. His research shows this is a common problem with Neons.

I'm looking at about another $250 next week to make my car functional. A car is a condition of my employment. This one is almost paid off...

We'll be looking for a new one, and to offload this one by fall.

I drive way too much for a car that requires this much maintenance. I want to look into a hybrid. Any one with leads on hybrids that reduces the upfront cost (cause I really can't afford that right now)...send them my way.
